SENTENCE CONSTRUCTION A REFERENCE BOOK FOR ACADEMIC WRITTEN

This book is the compilation, expansion and refinement of the author’s English lessons provided for doctoral students who took a refresher course in academic English. Neither does this book describe language functions to convey a particular notion or idea, nor does it demonstrate the processes of academic writing. Designed as a reference guide for revising and strengthening learners’ understanding of how different structures of English sentences can be grammatically constructed, the book has two primary aims: 1. To act as a consultative resource for students, language learners or other interested persons, as an upper-intermediate to advanced academic writer, to understand grammatical points and sentence structures which are typically used in academic texts. 2. To serve as a revision resource for those who are learning or have formerly learned or are interested in English as a foreign language and need to write certain sentences in English for academic purposes.
